Why would Iran make a uranium type of weapon? They are not some backward third world country. They could easily make a plutonium pit shaped like a miniature football that is sub-critical. When smashed in a steel mold driven by only two simultaneous high explosive charges, it would go critical. This would set off the secondary stage of lithium-7 deuteride. A thermonuclear weapon small enough for their missiles to carry. They probably could get a 1-2 megaton yield.
